I am warm-hearted, empathetic and caring counsellor. I work with females, males and gender diverse clients from all backgrounds. I have particular experience working with young people aged 15-25.
I qualified as a secondary school teacher before making the decision to return to university to specialise as a counsellor. I have worked extensively with teenagers and young adults spending many years counselling in secondary schools and tertiary education. I have recently moved into private practice where I can offer my clients flexible and expert care that caters to their needs.
Common topics clients bring to counselling include depression and anxiety, relational change, trauma, grief, gender or LGTB+ concerns, self-harm, educational pressure and perfectionism.
I tailor my approach to suit you and also the number of sessions you can attend or can afford. I acknowledge that everyone is different and openly discuss with you the style of counselling you would like. I am able to draw on a variety of approaches including Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Neuroscience, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Solution focused approaches.
